It's Not the Food
September 15, 2016 @ 5:51 AM by: Richard Steinecke

I was talking with one of our community members. The conversation ranged over many topics including his living situation. He has a wonderful landlady who cooks some of his meals for him. She is genuinely concerned about all of her tenants (not something I hear very often at Oasis, I might add). The community member said that while the meal at Oasis was quite good, his landlady’s meals were even better. He told me, I don’t come to the dinner for the food, I come here for the conversation. Being able to simply talk with others in a comfortable and accepting environment is what brought him back.
