It was a delightful breakfast at a very expensive restaurant with three other senior lawyers. In addition to the business at hand, some of our number recounted adventures in buying expensive suits at one of the top-quality tailors in the city. I had to leave a bit early and ran into one of our Oasis community members who wears the same clothes every day. He did not even look at me. I was just another rich guy in a suit. I called out his name and it took him a moment to place me. We had a warm chat. He recommended a store window that I just had to look at because of a funny picture of Albert Einstein posted there. I reminded him that I was saving something to return to him at the community dinner the next day. As we parted I could not help but think that the cost of my breakfast would probably feed him for a week. Two worlds had just collided. But because of our relationship, the impact had been softened.
