Spontaneous Generosity
January 27, 2017 @ 7:35 AM by: Richard Steinecke

“I don’t have to cook for two days” said the volunteer as he helped with the cleanup after our Tuesday community meal. When the meal is over, community members are allowed to take a container of left overs home. We are particularly glad when someone helping with the cleanup is able to take something home. Just then a latecomer arrived asking if the meal was still on. He had heard about the community dinner at our food bank and had walked quite a distance to check us out. All the food had been disposed of. There was nothing left. The volunteer spontaneously offered the latecomer his meal for the next day. Generosity can be contagious. And inspiring.
