Humour can make almost any situation bearable. I tell lame jokes before most activities to lighten the mood. (“Two silk worms had a race. They ended up in a tie.”) It has gotten to the point that once, when I announced I had not brought any jokes, the community cheered and applauded. Recently we have put some personal care products out an hour after the start of the food bank to encourage people to come later when it is not so busy. Last week we put out toilet paper. When one of our more outgoing community members learned of this intiative he complimented me on our 'TP Incentive Program'. I fear that this is one nickname that is going to last a long time.
