Most of our community members have hidden talents. For example, many of them are quite handy and are eager to help with necessary repairs. Never having been handy myself, I genuinely appreciate these skills. But occasionally a hidden talent jumps out and astonishes you. One of our regular community members played for me a clip from a prize he won on a radio station – studio recording time. The clip involved conversation and the performance of his song (with studio back up musicians) about busking on the streets. The song had both a sadness over relationships lost and a humour of the unexpected of street life. The song was quite good. The community member then told me of the joy he felt in doing community theatre for local children. The man was full of surprises. Just another day at Oasis.
