What is it about boys and messes. During the last heat wave we received six or seven crates of mandarins. Unfortunately they were ruined. They were covered in mould. They were oozing juice. By Tuesday dinner time they were discovered amid some construction debris outside our door. Someone had forgotten to put them in the garbage. It was a huge undertaking. The bunches of mandarins had to be removed from their plastic netting (that had to be ripped individually) and then they had to be dumped into the compost bin. Juice splattered everywhere and the mould dust flew in our faces. Five of the guys who were waiting downstairs to eat came out and helped. They did so with gusto and good will. There was jokes and laughter. A good time was had by all.
