I am praying as I write this. One of our community members is at this very moment travelling to a Remembrance Day service where her father will be honoured. He died 11 years ago. Our community member shared memories she had of him including about his bravery in war. The war affected him. She is concerned about coping with the emotions she will be feeling today. On Tuesday she asked me to pray for her. Some other volunteers wanted to participate. We went inside a quiet office and prayed together in a huddle. There were not a few tears. The next day the community member thanked me for the prayer time saying it had strengthened her. For me it was a privilege to have been asked.
Another experience that would never have happened in my day job.
