What a weekend! It started off with our Volunteer Recruitment Conference where local agencies shared their mission and strategies for recruiting volunteers. The best part of the conference, however, was networking with the other agencies about their work. The level of commitment and service by so many people choosing to work and volunteer in the non-profit sector is amazing. It reflects the best of us.
That same day we held our Volunteer Recognition and Christmas Celebration. And it was truly a festivity with food and beautiful music. All the different parts of our community drew together, as one, to cheer on our volunteers. After all, Jesus is the best example of a volunteer.
The next day we held our Spanish Cultural Exposition. Our seniors group displayed their artwork. They sang songs. Spanish food was served. But most amazing of all was the dancing by both a delightful Cuban couple and a professional troupe.
I finished the weekend with renewed enthusiasm.
