Almost 50 years ago singer Paul Simon released a sad and poignant song called “Mother and Child Reunion”. There have been many theories about the origin and meaning of the song. However, the emotion of reunions, both happy and sad ones, is very real. This past week Oasis had many happy reunions. At least six people who had not been there for a long while came by to say hello and check in with a place that continued to have an important place in their story of their lives. That Oasis (and a few of us folks who hang around) was still there to greet them meant a lot to both them and us. I am reminded of the immeasurably greater joy that awaits us when we go to our permanent home where no one will ever have to leave again.
