Never a Dull Moment
June 28, 2016 @ 5:23 AM by: Richard Steinecke

I was on intake at the Food Bank for the first time. It was a bit of a challenge for me as I am not intuitive on most computer programs. ‎My first new client was pleasantly talkative. When I asked what languages she spoke, she said: 'English and swearing'. She clearly was fluent in both. She then related a story of a young man giving her a hard time at some government office. She said to him: 'I have mustard in my fridge that is older than you!' I laughed so hard I almost fell off my chair. Ironically we had mustard available that day at the non-perishable food table for the first time in months. It is great when you can connect with community members right away.
