OASIS CHURCH UPDATE - OCTOBER 30, 2012

Dear Oasis Friends,

As you are aware, Oasis has been forming an English speaking church for the past three years. Much good work has been done in this area under the leadership of Pastor Scott Rourk. Six people have been baptized, several small groups have been run and a weekly meal and service have been offered besides many other activities.

As Oasis Church takes shape and grows it has reached the time for transition. Pastor Scott was asked to plant the Oasis Church, and now that it has grown, and because of Scott’s calling to plant other churches, Pastor Scott will finish his time at Oasis at the end of 2012.

Oasis thanks Pastor Scott for his time and effort given to the Oasis community. We will miss Pastor Scott and extend to him a fond farewell and we ask God’s blessing upon his future endeavours.

Moving forward, Oasis is committed to the members of the close-knit Oasis Church and we will strive to provide spiritual support in this time of transition. During this time the Oasis Board of Directors has given the mandate to transition into a part-time permanent church pastor as soon as a suitable person is found to begin early in 2013. Oasis will also seek the input of Oasis Church members in choosing the new Church Pastor.
