We could not offer the programs we do without volunteers. Most of our volunteers live in the area and many are participants of the programs we offer. Volunteers can choose whether they wish to help us unload trucks of food on Tuesday morning, prepare and clean up the meal on Tuesday evening, set up and assist at the food bank on Wednesday mornings, assist in some of our special events, support our Spanish Seniors Club or contribute in some other way with their special skills.

Volunteers choose to help at Oasis for many reasons including to meet new people, make more friends, use their skills, learn new skills, practice their English, obtain required volunteer hours, or to give back to the community. In our experience, the main benefit of volunteering is the making of new relationships with others.

People wishing to become volunteers should call 416-536-4431 or send us an email at info@oasisdufferin.org to arrange a time to visit. Or if you prefer, you can fill out this form. Depending on the position, you may observe and help out for a week or two to see if you enjoy it. Once you make a decision, there is a bit of paperwork to fill out so that you know what will be involved. We provide training. Most positions do not require a police check.

We are looking for volunteer drivers to pick up donations on Tuesday mornings. If you can help, call 416-536-4431 or send us an email at info@oasisdufferin.org.

Volunteers are invited to special events from time to time such as our annual holiday party in late November or early December.

Unfortunately Oasis is unable to provide TTC tokens to volunteers.

Interested candidates will receive a follow up by phone or email message with more information about an interview and training.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
